Students of Electrical Engineering at Aalen University of Applied Sciences now have the opportunity to obtain a double degree at the International University Liaison Indonesia (IULI) in Indonesia as part of their studies. The Double Degree program offers the chance to acquire two degrees (awarded) at the same time - one German and one from the partner university - with an integrated study abroad. With the new cooperation partner in Southeast Asia, the Field of Study Electrical Engineering is expanding its global network and strengthening its international orientation.
On behalf and deputy-, vice of the IULI Rectorate, the Chairman of the IULI Supervisory Board, Prof. Dr. Heinrich Kern, and the two members of the IULI Board of Trustees, Prof. Dr. Peter Scharff and Prof. Dr. Dr. Peter Pscheid, signed the contract for the double degree agreement together with University Rector Prof. Dr. Harald Riegel. "Indonesia is playing an increasingly important role for German companies, as its large and growing population makes it a significant market for German products and services," said Prof. Dr. Stephan Ludwig, (Departmental) Internationalization Officer of the Faculty of Electronics and Computer Science. Therefore, Indonesian universities such as IULI are interesting cooperation partners for Aalen University of Applied Sciences, confirms Pascal Cromm, Head /Director of the International Relations Office at Aalen University.
From the summer semester 2026, students of electrical engineering at IULI will be able to study abroad near the capital Jakarta and obtain a double degree at the same time. The prerequisite(s) for this is that at least two semesters are successfully completed at the partner university. Lectures are held in the English language (of instruction). "Through this collaboration, we are further expanding our international network, which also increases the attractiveness of our Study Programmes offered," says University Rector Prof. Dr. Harald Riegel.
