New degree programmes taught in English with a focus on STEM subjects

Aalen University of Applied Sciences continues to expand its internationalization strategy

The English-language Bachelor's programs "Mechatronics Engineering" and "Mechanical Engineering" will start at Aalen University of Applied Sciences in the winter semester 2025/2026. With these programmes offered, international as well as German school leavers will be increasingly addressed for Studies in Aalen - and recruited as qualified professionals of tomorrow.

Aalen University of Applied Sciences arouses enthusiasm for Mathematics, Computer Science, Natural Sciences and Technology (MINT); and not only throughout Germany, but also increasingly internationally: The existing offer of seven English-language Master's programs will be expanded in the winter semester 2025/2026 by two English-language Bachelor's programmes in Mechanical Engineering and Mechatronics. "This is a win-win-win situation," says President Prof. Dr. Harald Riegel. "Attractive career paths are opening up for STEM students, our Campus is becoming more diverse and our country is becoming more innovative and economically competitive."

Professor Dr. Anja Dieckmann, Vice-Rector for International Affairs, adds: "We are thus offering international, qualified graduates the opportunity to study with us and to network with companies in our region during the practical phases. And our German prospective students will be prepared for the global job market with even more in-depth language skills and intercultural competencies." The English-language Bachelor's programs enable joint learning that goes beyond pure studies. There is a buddy and family sponsorship program for international students, while German students have the opportunity to study for a semester at a partner university abroad without losing any time. Compulsory language courses in the first two study semesters (German for international students and advanced English for domestic students) are an important basis for this. "The new offers promote the intercultural environment, language skills, global perspectives - and thus also the attractiveness of Aalen University of Applied Sciences and the East Württemberg region," emphasizes Dieckmann.
