Award ceremony of the Deutschlandstipendium (national scholarship program) at Aalen University of Applied Sciences

A total of 28 students from all faculties of the institution of higher education are currently being sponsored. The fact that this high number of Germany Scholarships can be awarded, is mainly due to the generous support of regional companies, with which Aalen University of Applied Sciences is very well connected. The scholarships are made possible by a total of 15 companies and foundations. With the awarding of the certificates, seven students have now joined the ranks of the new scholarship holders for the summer semester 2025.

"Only 1.1 percent of students at German institutions of higher education receive the Deutschlandstipendium (national scholarship programme)," said Vice President Prof. Dr. Andreas Ladurner, welcoming the new scholarship holders and concluding: "That makes you something special that you can be proud of." The Deutschlandstipendium (national scholarship programme) is a national funding program in Germany that supports students at institutions of higher education. It is awarded to talented and committed students and is irrespective of personal or parental income. The scholarship amounts to 300 euros per month, half of which is funded by supporters, sponsors (such as companies, foundations, alumni) and the other half by the federal government. Funding is provided for at least two semesters and can be renewed up to the Standard duration of the degree program.

The aim of the Deutschlandstipendium (national scholarship programme) is to strengthen the idea of achievement and to promote exchange between institutions of higher education and the economy, business. Students can apply for the scholarship directly at their institution of higher education, with the selection criteria including social commitment and special personal circumstances in addition to outstanding academic performance.

After the welcome address, the new scholarship holders introduced themselves: Noel Bojkovac, Amelie Luz, Jana Riedel, Niklas Krauss, Julian Lachenmayer, Philipp Raab and Sophie Reimer. Ladurner then presented them with their Deutschlandstipendium (national scholarship program) degree certificates.

"The foundation from which I received the scholarship also offers trips to Europe. I'm looking forward to future exchanges with the supporters," said Jana Riedel, who is studying Business Psychology and Sustainabaility and received her scholarship from the Gips-Schüle Foundation. Philipp Raab, student of Mechatronics / Robotics, German and World Champion in the "Robot Systems Integration" category and entrepreneur of a start-up adds: "The funding from the Deutschlandstipendium (national scholarship programme) helps me a little to keep my back free for my company and to concentrate on my Studies."
