About us

Aalen University - Studying and Researching for Our Future

This is what we stand for

Growing knowledge together. This idea characterizes Aalen University of Applied Sciences. Because we are convinced that the future is created where people share their knowledge, combine perspectives and develop new solutions together.

With five faculties, around 60 forward-looking degree programs, over 4,000 students, 550 employees and 146 professors, we are a strong community in East Wuerttemberg. At our three campuses Beethovenstraße, Burren and Waldcampus, we learn, teach, research and work together on the issues of tomorrow – in a practical, interdisciplinary manner and with high academic quality.

Our self-image is based on three central pillars:

Community – We live as a community. Our University of Applied Sciences is a place of exchange, openness and togetherness. Students, teaching staff, researchers and employees shape university life together – in partnership, personally and at eye level.

Competence – We stand for excellent teaching, application-oriented research and strong specialist expertise. Modern laboratories, innovative learning formats and practical projects combine scientific quality with concrete added value for business and society.

Connections – We think in a networked way. Both within the University of Applied Sciences and beyond. With excellent international connections and strong regional roots, we work closely with companies, research institutions and social partners. In particular, our close cooperation with the numerous hidden champions and global market leaders in our region makes us an important driving force for innovation and knowledge transfer in East Wuerttemberg.

In this way, we combine technology with humanity, innovation with responsibility and the future with a down-to-earth approach. Together, we create a place where knowledge grows – together.
