Mourning for Professor Dr. Degenhard Schäffler

Professor Schäffler was a professor at Aalen University from 1965 to 1995. For many years, he also held the position of Head of Department in what is now the field of Electronics & Computer Science. Mr. Schäffler was still active as a part-time lecturer until 2001.

With his passing, we have lost a personality who was highly respected and assessed by lecturers, staff and students. His great commitment to Aalen University will remain unforgettable. We will keep Professor Schäffler and his work in grateful memory. Our sympathy goes out to his family.

The funeral service will take place on Friday, March 13, 2026, 1:30 pm, at the Waldfriedhof in Aalen.
