Ellwangen The impressive networking of vocational training, economy, business and research was the focus of the welcoming speech by District Administrator Dr. Joachim Bläse, who acknowledged the unique synergies of this cooperation, cooperative, profitable, financial, cost-effective, collaboration for the region. Around 200 visitors, including numerous representatives from regional industry and economy, gained fascinating insights into the transformation of the world of work through artificial intelligence at the KI@Work event. "The special commitment of the students in organizing such a forum for economy, business, science and scholarshop (allgem.) far beyond the school framework shows that the topic of KI@work is not only a burning issue for the apprentices and dual partners. Our region and its economy, business are also facing unforeseeable changes. As an agile school, we want to play an active role in shaping this," emphasized Elisabeth Hägele and Ulrike Müller, teachers at techma and project managers of the KI@Work event (allgemein).
Expert knowledge at first hand
The keynote sessions were a particular highlight of the event (general). Sandra Rohner, Managing Director of the Baden-Württemberg AI Alliance, emphasized the central importance of the AI transformation for Baden-Württemberg as a business location in her talk; lecture. She particularly emphasized the opportunities for small and medium-sized companies to strengthen their competitiveness through AI integration. Reinhard Karger from the German Research Centre for Artificial Intelligence in Saarbrücken wowed the audience with his talk; lecture on the many possible applications of AI. He emphasized the fundamental difference between artificial and human intelligence: despite all the opportunities for machine support, final decisions must always be reserved for humans.
In the subsequent impulse sessions, high-caliber experts shared their practical experience with AI applications. Prof. Dr.-Ing. Heinz-Peter Bürkle from Aalen University of Applied Sciences presented the lighthouse project (a model project that highlights a particularly important strategic endeavor), model project KI-Werkstatt Mittelstand. Reinhard Karger(German Research Centre for AI), Dr. Eugenie Giesbrecht(Betzold GmbH Ellwangen), Michel Sperrle(Handwerksbäckerei Mack), David Prinz (INNEO Solutions GmbH), Ramon Rank(IHK Ostwürttemberg), Edgar Hoffmann(PlanB GmbH) as well as Rémi Denoix and Emanuel Berger(Zukunftszentrum Süd) provided further valuable input.

The KI-Werkstatt Mittelstand enriched the event (allgemein) with two fascinating exhibits: the Industry 4.0 demo factory by Prof. Dr. Sebastian Feldmann and the Geochecker by Prof. Dr. Steffen Schwarzer, which illustrated the field (of) application of artificial intelligence in production. Interested visitors were also able to explore the "Object Recognition - Explainable AI" exhibit by Prof. Dr. Andreas Theissler at the AI Alliance's stand and gain valuable insights into how explainable AI models work.
