The scholarship will be given to a master's graduate of the Vision Science and Business (Optometry) Master of Science degree program at Aalen University, Germany, who demonstrates high scholastic standing and exhibits integrity, dedication, and a high level of commitment in promoting the profession of optometry. The student's written thesis should be clinically applicable and demonstrates the potential in expanding the professional scope in clinical/patient care.

A graduate will be selected for the award each year. The recipient will be selected by the Committee of Scholarship and Awards, made up of faculty and alumni from Aalen University, The New England College of Optometry and the College of Optometry at Pacific University. The award given to the recipient will be 2000 Euros.

In any given year, if the Aalen University recommends an outstanding thesis of clinical excellence submitted by a student pursuing a Bachelor of Optometry degree, he/she will also be considered for the award.

The application of this award should be submitted no later than August 1 of the current year. The application must include an official transcript showing completion of didactic courses with grades and certification of completion of the entire degree program.

The recipient will be notified of the award by the scholarship committee by October of the current year. The award will be presented by Karl Amon at the Alumni Event each year in November.

Tu, 21. November 2023 For the 16th time in a row, the Karl Amon Optometry Award was presented at Aalen University on Nov. 18, 2023. This prize, worth a total of €2,000, will be shared between the two winners Torsten Dautzenberg and Kai Jaeger. The two successful and practice-experienced graduates of the part-time master's degree program in Vision Science and Business (Optometry) received this award at the Aalen University graduation ceremony for outstanding scientific work with high practical and scientific benefit in the field of optometry.
We, 16. November 2022 For the 15th time in a row, the Karl Amon Optometry Award, endowed with €2,000, was presented at Aalen University. In this year the coveted price goes to Jessica Gruhl and Maximilian Aricochi. The two best-in-class 2022 of the extra occupational master program Vision Science and Business (Optometry) received the award for outstanding scientific work with high practical benefit for the optical industry as part of the anniversary event: 40 years of diploma or bachelor program Optometry and 20 years of the master program Vision Science and Business (Optometry) and the Symposium “Future of Optometry” on the 11th of November 2022
Personal and scientific development at the top level and great benefits for optometry practices - these achievements lead to the award of the Karl Amon Optometry Award. The winners in 2021 are Anna Bachmann and Stefanie Schuster.

Mo, 16. November 2020 Zum 13. Mal in Folge wurde der Karl Amon Optometry Award an der Hochschule Aalen verliehen. In diesem Jahr geht der mit insgesamt 2000 Euro dotierte Preis an Yvonne Gier und Tobias Bracher. Die beiden erfolgreichen Absolventen des berufsbegleitenden Studiengangs „Vision Science and Business (Optometry)“ erhielten im Rahmen der Absolventenfeier die Auszeichnung für herausragende wissenschaftliche Arbeiten mit hohem praktischem Nutzen für die Augenoptik-Branche.

Mo, 18. November 2019 On Saturday, the twelfth Karl Amon Optometry Award was presented at Aalen University. This year, the prize worth a total of 2,000 Euros goes to Stephanie Felgner and Tom Koellmer. The two successful graduates of the study program "M.Sc. Vision Science and Business (Optometry)" received the award for outstanding scientific work with high practical benefits for the optometry practices during the graduation ceremony.

In Rahmen dieser feierlichen Veranstaltung wurde auch der Karl Amon Optometry Award 2015 verliehen. In diesem Jahr teilen sich Nataša Vujko Muždalo aus Kroatien und Markus Ritzmann aus der Schweiz diesen mit insgesamt 2.000 Euro dotierten Preis.
Mo, 20. October 2014 Schon im vergangenen Jahr hat man im berufsbegleitenden Masterstudiengang „Vision Science and Business (Optometry)“ damit begonnen, mit einem Logbuch zu arbeiten: Jeder Studierende musste 15 Fälle aus der klinischen Versorgung der Kunden dokumentieren und einreichen.
