The workshop aimed to equip students with essential intercultural competencies that will not only assist them in working within multicultural teams during their studies but also prove invaluable in their future international careers.
Professor Christina Ravens, the program coordinator, emphasized the importance of this intercultural training: "Our goal is not only to impart theoretical knowledge to students but also to foster practical skills that they can apply in a global work environment."
The workshop covered a broad range of topics to promote intercultural competencies. Participants engaged deeply with cultural differences, focusing on values such as respect and communication. Through interactive exercises, including team-building challenges, students reflected on their own cultural backgrounds and gained a deeper understanding of the dynamics within multicultural teams. They also explored intercultural theories and learned how differences in hierarchy and communication styles can impact teamwork.
