Welcome to Baden-Württemberg!

The Black Forest, Heidelberg, the Stuttgart Ballet, Porsche, Bosch, DaimlerChrysler, Carl Zeiss Optik and SAP are all names of global significance. However, not only global players but also many small and medium-sized international engineering companies positively influence the state's economy. Situated at the heart of the European economic market, Baden-Württemberg has a truly cosmopolitan character, a large cultural diversity and beautiful landscapes, all contributing to an excellent quality of life. Being one of the most economically competitive German states, it is no surprise that almost one quarter of Germany's research and development capacity is concentrated in Baden-Württemberg. It is among the German states with the largest number of universities, many of which are internationally renowned.

Welcome to East-Württemberg!

Aalen University is located in the eastern part of the state of Baden-Württemberg in a geographically and economically attractive environment. Aalen, home of 67.000 inhabitants, is able to offer many opportunities, since it merges characteristics of a major city with the charm of a small town. Since Aalen is close to many of Germany’s most famous sightseeing locations, you can easily take day trips to Stuttgart, Munich, Ulm, Augsburg or Nuremberg. By its twin cities in the UK, France, Hungary, Italy and Turkey and its annual international festivals Aalen has established a positive environment for students from abroad. In 2005, Aalen was awarded Germany‘s Friendliest Immigration Office by the Alexander von Humboldt Foundation and the Donors‘ Association for the Promotion of Sciences and Humanities in Germany.
