The study concept of applied photonics isn't a conventional master
program. It is possible to work while you study, but the target audience
aren't particular people who are already working.

It is your choice if you study past-time and work on the other days
or if you study conventionally without a professional life.
Professional life isn't a requirement for the maser program applied photonics.

Ich arbeite neben dem Studium bei Carl Zeiss Microscopy im Bereich Forschung und Entwicklung für Elektronenmikroskope. Dort wirke ich bei Entwicklung, Konstruktion und Test eines Zubehörteiles mit. Da ich nur montags und dienstags Vorlesungen besuche, kann ich meine Arbeitszeit flexibel einteilen.

This course is for students that want to achieve special knowledge of innovative technologies in Photonics. Additionally this course adresses working people with bachelor‘s degree, that seek a higher occupational qualification by master‘s degree. These people study extra-occupationally without losing their job.

The organisation of the study program offers all subjects as part-time concept in 4 semesters:

2 days per week lectures
1 - 3 days per week professional life (students apply self-reliant at regioanl companies)

Alternatively

conventional study course in 3 semesters without professional work

Application an admission

The course starts in summer semester and winter semester and the application has to be send until January 15th for summer and July 15th for winter. Online application

Prerequisites for Admission

A high quality Bachelor or Diploma degree in Physics or Engineering, e.g. in Electronics, Optoelectronics, Mechatronics or Optometry
Profound English (B2)

Regional enterprises like OSRAM and ZEISS offer interesting engineering jobs, that
match perfectly the part-time concept of the master study program. Of course you can
apply at any other company for a corresponding industrial job in individuell part-time.
