New stage of life with Studies - Where can I find information as a first semester student?

Studies are a new phase of life that brings many challenges and often also uncertainties. However, Aalen University of Applied Sciences and the Faculty offer many information opportunities so that you can start your Studies without any worries.

In addition to the general introduction, you can also expect a welcome event in the respective degree program, where you will be provided with all the necessary information.

You can find out when these events take place by sending an email to the email address you provided in your Application.

Further information for first semester students and the general introduction can be found here at the Student Affairs Department.

Is leadership something for me as a woman? What career opportunities do I see for myself? How can I make a successful (career) start in business? The KarMen mentoring program addresses these questions and accompanies women on their way to a management position in business. Dedicated women have the opportunity to work closely with a mentor to develop their skills and perhaps recognize previously undiscovered potential. In addition to the mentoring discussions, coaching days, events and network meetings are also held regularly.

You can find more information here.

The Study and Examination Regulations (SPO) are a central document that will accompany you throughout your Studies. It provides you with a wide range of information and lists the relevant requirements. For example, you will find specifications on elective subjects, the practical semester, the duration of studies, various deadlines and much more.

Familiarize yourself with the SPO even if it seems confusing at first. It will help you to clarify many of your questions.

Please note that you should always look at the general and special sections together. Some things are regulated across all degree programs in the general section, others only in the special section.

You can find the relevant SPO under the corresponding link.

How can I emerge stronger from crises? Our students addressed this question in all its facets in the summer semester of 2024, resulting in the publication of this year's get it. Not only does it provide information, guidelines and interviews, but it also celebrates two anniversaries: the magazine from the study area is 15 years old (back then with Prof. Dr. Monika Weissgerber, with whom there is also an interview) and it has been called get it for 10 years.

Everyone can be proud of it! Prof. Dr. Constance Richter will be happy to send you a printed copy of the magazine on request.
