Would you like to study, but don't yet know which direction to take? Are you unsure which degree programme would passport you? Are you finding it difficult to make a decision given the wide range of subjects on offer? Then there are various services that can help you. You can either use advisory formats where you can talk directly to study and vocational counsellors, and/or you can use online tools to help you find the right path for you in the jungle of programmes offered.
BEST seminars
The BEST training offered throughout the country provides the best possible support in choosing your own course of studies, studies, academic program and career. The decision training is aimed at pupils from general and vocational secondary schools.
At the two-day BEST departments, which are offered throughout Baden-Württemberg, specially trained teachers, vocational counsellors and career counselling staff work with participants to develop methods for choosing an appointment for professors; academic programmes. Workshops for orientation programmes
As part of events for prospective students, we regularly organize workshops on orientation programmes. If you are interested, simply go to hs-aalen.de/events to find out when the next Student Advisory Service, academic advising or Campus Days are taking place, or send us a request by email to studienberatung@hs-aalen.de .

Use of online tools
There are various ways to find out about degree programmes and their contents online and to check which educational path suits you best. The online tools also include orientation tests. The aim of these tests is to liaise with(companies), liaise between (students and companies), coordinate acts, as an intermediary between.
- Information on degree programs throughout Germany can be found on the Higher Education Compass website.
- An orientation test to help you filter out degree programs that match your skills and interests is available on was-studiere-ich.de.
- With Check-U , the employment agency offers an exploration tool for vocational training and courses of studies, based on a two-hour personality test, at the end of which six suitable training paths or degree programmes are suggested. You can find more information here.
- Short, informative study orientation films (1min30) on 61 degree programs can be found here.
- Information and sample tasks from 49 different degree programs in Baden-Württemberg can be found on the bwquadrat.de website.
- All universities and institutions of higher education are currently setting up so-called OSA platforms to help you check for yourself whether a degree programme really suits you and your interests. It is therefore worth doing a simple internet search to find out whether there are already OSA pages for degree programmes that interest you.
