Writing Center

In the Writing Center, we accompany you in your writing processes and support you in drafting scientific texts, such as exposés, dissertations or scientific articles. We advise you in the planning phase, in the writing process as well as in the revisions- and publication phase.

Workshops & talks

Our offers are aimed at Master's students interested in pursuing a PhD, doctoral researchers as well as all researchers. Topics of the workshops and talks are for example:

  • Organizing and structuring the writing process
  • Writing strategies and methods
  • Overcoming writer’s block
  • Narrowing down and presenting your research topic
  • Research Data Management
  • Literature research
  • Developing a text structure

Toolbox for Scientific Writing and Publishing

To support your research and writing processes, we have created a toolbox with instructions, information sheets, checklists, and links. The contents of the toolbox are based on the research and writing process as well as the research data life cycle. It is a collaborative project between the Library and the Research Academy.

Writing counseling

In addition to our workshop and talk offers, we accompany you in your individual writing project. We advise you in the planning phase, in the writing process as well as in the revisions- and publication phase. The writing counseling helps you to for example:

  • gain an overview over your writing project
  • develop a time- and work plan for your writing project
  • narrow down the topic of your writing project
  • create a concept and a structure for your text
  • use reading -a and writing techniques for effective writing
  • get text feedback, esp. concerning the common theme and wording
  • keep up your motivation for your writing project
  • effectively overcoming writer’s block
  • possibilities to publish in Open Access.
