You can find initial information below. If you have any further questions, we will be happy to help you with an individual consultation! You can arrange an appointment at any time using our appointment booking tool.

Financing your studies with BAföG

BAföG state student funding is intended to enable young people to finance the education that suits their abilities and inclinations. Students receive BAföG if their own financial resources and those of their parents or spouse/life partner are not sufficient. Student BAföG is usually granted half as a grant (= gift) and half as an interest-free loan. A maximum of €10,010 of the loan amount must be repaid.

If all requirements of the Federal Training Assistance Act (BAföG) are met, students have a legal entitlement to the payment of BAföG. The amount of funding depends on the individual circumstances.

Online tools for BAföG requirements and BAföG calculation

You can find out whether you are entitled to BAföG with the help of the website of the Deutsches Studierendenwerk, for example. There you will find all the information on the necessary requirements, links to (non-binding) BAföG calculators and information on the BAföG application.

Information events organized by the BAföG Office

At least once per semester, employees of the BAföG Office inform students at Aalen University about funding opportunities and application procedures. We will inform you about the events, which usually take place online, in good time by e-mail to your student account.

Study financing with a scholarship - not only for geniuses!

Contrary to what many people think, Scholarships are not just for the highly gifted. For many scholarship providers, for example, voluntary work or commitment to certain social values is particularly important. There is a large scholarship landscape in Germany. This includes the 13 organizations for the promotion of gifted students, the Deutschlandstipendium and over 2000 small scholarship providers.

In view of this multitude, it is worth taking a closer look at the respective offers and requirements! You can find an initial overview of various scholarship providers here. For example, e-fellows.net offers you a database to search for suitable scholarship providers.
