Aalen University of Applied Sciences also makes a significant contribution to the region's innovative strength.
University city Aalen
Aalen as a university city is a picturesque town in Baden-Württemberg, located in the east of the state on the edge of the Ostalb. It has around 68,000 inhabitants and is the largest town in the Ostalb district.
In addition to its history dating back to Roman times, Aalen also offers a charming townscape with half-timbered houses, narrow streets, and picturesque squares in the old town. Particularly worth seeing are the historic market square and the Old Town Hall with its characteristic spy tower, from which you can enjoy a beautiful view of the city.
Surrounded by the rolling hills of the Ostalb, Aalen offers many opportunities for recreation and leisure activities. The city center with its cafés, restaurants, and shopping facilities creates an atmosphere where everyone feels at home. Hiking and biking trails lead through idyllic landscapes, and the nearby Limes Thermen spa invites you to relax and unwind.
