Aalen is a city of 67,000 inhabitants at the foot of the Swabian Mountains. Many small and medium sized companies have settled here. The regional energy demand is big, but energy efficiency is an important topic in the region and promoted by Aalen University and energy suppliers.
The Ostalb region offers you a picturesque landscape where you can explore the Roman UNESCO World heritage site „Limes“ or find out more about the life of the Celts, Romans and the Staufers – a medieval dynasty of German kings. If you want to explore Germany a bit more, within a short (one to three hours) ride by train you can visit the surrounding cities: Stuttgart, Ulm, Nuremberg and Munich.
