The Intercultural Club of the International Center at Aalen University aims to bring internationally oriented people together on campus. The first events in the 2022 summer semester as part of the Studium Generale have already taken place.
At the international speed dating, which took place on March 30th, 2022, in the Audimax, foreign and Aalen students got to know each other. In short two-minute conversations, two students exchanged views on various topics in English. Our German students were able to gain international experience on campus, and at the same time our international students learned a little more about the new country they chose to visit. As part of the event, exchange student Sam from the USA also introduced the "English Chat Club", which he organizes and which takes place every Wednesday at 1 p.m. in room 211. All students, employees and professors at the university who would like to speak English in a relaxed atmosphere are invited to the "English Chat Club".
On April 5th, 2022, our Aalen students inspired and motivated their fellow students in an online event with exciting testimonials about their semesters abroad with authentic reports on their experiences. Four students reported on the possibility of completing the internship semester abroad and talked about the impressive experiences they had as interns in Spain, Sweden, Liechtenstein, and Switzerland. During the event, two other students talked about their unforgettable semesters abroad at partner universities in the USA. This travel destination in particular is in high demand among Aalen students. "One highlight of the USA semester was celebrating Thanksgiving with an American family in Wyoming," says Jan Leopoldseder, one of the exchange students.
