The growing and increasingly technological healthcare market requires highly qualified and well-trained experts, which is exactly where the new Health Technology Management degree course comes in: it teaches medical, scientific, technical and economic expertise. This is because technology management in the healthcare sector has to react continuously and adapt to new improvements in medical devices. After all, hearing aids, for example, are now high-performance computers and quite “smart”. The Master's degree program in Health Technology Management offers the opportunity to acquire in-depth knowledge in the fields of ophthalmic optics, audiology/hearing acoustics, digital health management, medical technology or research through its range of elective modules and is therefore particularly aimed at students interested in (medical) technology.this Master's degree program is a consecutive part-time degree program designed in such a way that students can pursue part-time employment in a company or research institution alongside their studies. However, the part-time degree course is also of interest to those who wish to work part-time at the university - either as a research assistant at the faculty or as a project employee in a third-party funded project.
Accordingly, the lectures take place in the form of block courses and you can gain in-depth knowledge via the elective area, e.g. in optometry, audiology and hearing acoustics, digital health management, medical technology or via a research project by arrangement.

Our Health Technology Management programme, which begins this winter term, starts right there: It provides you with expert knowledge in medicine, science, technology and economy. That's because the technology management in healthcare must be able to react continuously and adjust to improvements in medical devices. This brand-new Master’s Degree lets you choose between five topics to focus on: optics, acoustics, digital health management or research.
Please remember: This is not an all English program! In order to gain admission, you will need to prove your German language skills.

Course specialization: Optics|Optometry
If you already have a Bachelor’s Degree in optics or similar, specialization optics|optometry enables you to connect practical activities (e.g. lens desgin) with scientific work (science project). In several projects you will learn to optimize your presentation techniques, to analyze scientific articles and to apply your acquired expert knowledge in the field of optics|optometry at a high scientific level.
Course specialization: Acoustics |Audiology
This specialization is ideal if you’re intending to delve into and broaden your already existing knowledge in the field of acoustics or audiology. You will gain extensive knowledge in audiological test settings, psychophysical and electrophysical measurement settings, you’re going to learn the essentials of medical physics in the field of audiology and by the end of this program you will be able to develop and implement a scientific question / a qualitative or quantitative research design in acoustic or audiology.
Course specialization: Digital Health Management
This specialization is addressed to everyone who would like to intensify their know-how in the field of project management, innovation and digitalization. The topic, which strongly aims at group work, ensures a tight connection to your future occupation from the very beginning. You will be intensifying your project management skills, learn how to employ agile innovation management methods and by the end of the programme you will be able to process scientifically the important topics in management independently and implement them in practice.
Course specialization: Medical Technology
If you would like to improve your knowledge in the field of medical technology, this main topic is the one for you. Individually as well as during group work, you will be confronted with questions from risk management for medical products and can analyze and optimize the functions of complex medical devices (such as heart-lung-machines, surgical robots and so on) by the end of this program.
Course specialization: Scientific Project
Right from the start you will be working on a current scientific topic. You will be occupied with a self chosen scientific question from the wide field of applied research, during which you will be in close professional exchange with your supervising professor. The end of the program is aimed at drafting a high-level scientific article or research report.
