Select the abbreviation of your degree program and the corresponding semester: MLD.
Important: Changes can still be made to the lecture timetable after the start of lectures. In order to receive information in good time, you can subscribe to the lectures in the lecture timetable. You will then be informed of any changes by e-mail. You can find out what other functions the lecture timetable offers here:
Electives / competence subjects MLD
In principle, all subjects from the Master's courses offered by the university that are not compulsory subjects in your own degree program can be taken as electives.
Competence subjects are like electives, but must match the competence area, which usually corresponds to the respective previous Bachelor's degree. Subjects from the Master's degree program in Computer Science are considered competence or elective subjects for all competence areas.
Elective and competence subjects that have not yet been approved and are not included in the list of previously approved subjects must be approved a proiri. To do this, complete the form “Application for approval of an elective subject” and submit it to the degree program. Do this as soon as you have decided to attend a lecture, as it is quite possible that a subject will not be approved. In this case, you will not be able to have this course credited.
To complete your studies, you must use the form “Determination elective subjects” to specify the lectures to be credited as electives or competence subjects.
The MIN and MLD Master's timetables are organized in such a way that there is no/very little overlap and you can therefore simply choose the subjects of the other Master's degree program as electives or competence subjects.
All of the following subjects have been approved in the past and are recognized without further approval, provided that the lectures and examinations take place and the respective lecturers agree. You must check this with the respective degree program yourself.
In principle, the current entries in the module handbook are always valid.
Pay attention to the “Supplement” column: A subject listed here is currently only recognized for the use specified there. Any other use must be applied for.
Already approved subjects:
(You must find out for yourself whether these subjects are offered in English.)

The module handbook
What is the module handbook for?
The module handbook provides you with information about the modules specific to your degree program and provides you with all the important information for each module.
It is an important source of information that you should use together with the SPO throughout your studies. It provides the necessary information, especially when choosing electives, but also when structuring your studies.
!! Please note that the version changes every semester. You can find the latest version here. Make sure that you are always up to date.
What information does the module handbook provide?
The module handbook provides the following information for each module:
Name of the module
Module number
Number of credit points (CP)
Scope of the workload
Start date (ATTENTION: Please note that some modules only start in the winter OR summer semester. This may be important for planning purposes).
Form of knowledge transfer
Learning objectives
Course content
Admission requirements
Type of module (compulsory, compulsory elective or elective module)
Lecturer
Composition of the grade
Don't want to give up your job during your Master's degree? Then apply now to study part-time:
1. Submit your application to the secretary's office
2. Enclose proof of your employer's agreement with the application
3. Submit your employment contract (black out salary details)
4. Enclose an individual study plan where you plan your lectures for each semester matching the amount of working hours left for your studies. For example, if you are working 50% (max 20 hours per week) you must plan for 50% of the normal 30CP per semester.
When changing degree programs within the university, but also between different universities, it is often possible to have things recognized. To do this, it is necessary to submit an application for recognition. You can find this and the relevant information and deadlines here: Information on recognition
The Study and Examination Regulations (SPO) are a central document that will accompany you throughout your studies. It provides you with a wide range of information and lists the relevant requirements. For example, you will find specifications on elective subjects, the practical semester, the duration of studies, various deadlines and much more.
Familiarize yourself with the SPO even if it seems confusing at first. It will help you to clarify many of your questions.
Please note that you should always look at the general and special sections together. Some things are regulated across all degree programs in the general section, others only in the special section.
You can find the relevant SPO under the corresponding link: Statutes
