The university invites guests to a public scientific symposium from May 10 to 16, 2023. The focus will be on sustainable resources - from water to raw materials and energy to health. Leibniz Prize winner and director at the Max Planck Institute, Prof. Dr. Ferdi Schüth, has been recruited for the keynote lecture on energy systems of the future with a focus on hydrogen.

Aalen. The world is changing and natural resources are limited. This makes it all the more important for academia to conduct research on sustainable solutions. To enable an exchange of knowledge on these challenges on an international level here on campus, Aalen University invites guests to an international scientific symposium: "Global Perspectives on Planetary Boundaries: Sustainable Solutions for Limited Resources". It will take place as part of an International Week at the university in conjunction with the 60th anniversary celebration in May 2023.

Enjoy presentations by and with international guests on sustainable resources in the fields of water, energy, raw materials and health. In addition to researchers from Aalen University, internationally renowned experts from Morocco, South Africa, Turkey and the USA will participate. In the keynote lecture, Prof. Dr. Ferdi Schüth, Director at the Max Planck Institute for Coal Research in Mülheim/Ruhr, will provide insights into his research. Schüth will present on the energy systems of the future starting at 9:45 a.m. on Friday, May 12th. The researchers will be presenting at a generally understandable level.
