Sustainable corporate management, sustainability controlling and sustainable supply chain management are key topics for companies and our society. In the summer semester of 2023, a new study program will be launched at Aalen University that will provide students with application-oriented training in these disciplines. The in-depth master's degree in sustainable corporate management is primarily aimed at prospective students with a relevant degree in economics.

Ongoing climate change and the increasing scarcity of resources are accelerating the sustainable transformation. New regulations in the area of sustainability at EU and federal level, such as the new Supply Chain Duty of Care Act, which regulates corporate responsibility for compliance with human rights in supply chains, pose major challenges for companies and businesses. Trained specialists and managers are urgently needed in sustainability management.

This is where Aalen University comes in with its Master’s in Sustainable Corporate Management. "It deals with current and socially relevant topics and trains students in an application-oriented manner for management positions in sustainability departments of companies or non-profit organizations," says Prof. Dr. Patrick Ulrich, head of the program and initiator of the qualification offer. In addition to the technical competencies in the field of sustainability management, the program also imparts sound, scientific methodological knowledge and skills, such as negotiation, and application-oriented knowledge through joint practical projects with companies. Some of the courses will be held in English.
