Flagship Project

AI Workshop for SMEs

The AI Workshop for SMEs conducts applied research on new AI topics for small and medium-sized enterprises in Eastern Württemberg. The focus is on cross-industry issues related to artificial intelligence, data, digital technologies, and their application, with the goal of making AI expertise, research findings, and knowledge transfer structures sustainably accessible and firmly established in the region. The project is funded by the ERDF (European Regional Development Fund), the Ostalbkreis district, the city of Aalen, and the state of Baden-Württemberg.

The Three Pillars of the AI Workshop

AI Innovation

From the initial idea to the prototype, the AI Workshop supports the entire innovation process. Experts from the University of Applied Sciences collaborate with companies to develop intelligent AI applications, implement them as practical solutions, and subsequently support the development of suitable business models. This promotes the transfer of research into business practice.

AI Infrastructure

A modern, high-performance infrastructure forms the foundation of the AI Workshop. With an NVIDIA DGX H100, eight Tensor GPUs, and extensive internal and external storage capacities, powerful resources are available for training AI models, processing large volumes of data, and conducting demanding research and development projects.

AI Experience

Through the mobile exhibition “AI Experience,” the AI Workshop makes artificial intelligence understandable and tangible for interested visitors. Interactive exhibits clearly convey the fundamentals, current applications, and research in a vivid way and invite visitors to try things out for themselves. The program is complemented by events for different age groups and target audiences that impart knowledge, encourage discussion, and help overcome reservations about artificial intelligence.
