The Research Academy and the FH-Personal project team will inform you about qualification programs, doctoral opportunities and career prospects at Aalen University. The SmartPro research network provides insights into future technologies – from materials and 3D printing, AI and recycling to high-performance optics, renewable energies, electromobility and automation.

Even though optometric/medical competence meets basic technical/scientific understanding and manual skills in optometry studies, it is also super important to keep an eye on the possibilities of artificial intelligence in the truest sense of the word. Ms. Jansen, the founder of the Digital Educational Journey and teacher at Schubart Gymnasium Aalen, will give a brief insight into this highly topical and super exciting subject with her short keynote speech. The exciting experiments of the Ophthalmic Optics/Optometry course can be found on the DIS ground floor in room 0.01

Demography and medical-technical progress – Challenges and solutions for the healthcare system of tomorrow

What's behind studying chemistry – and is it right for me? We provide exciting insights into the Chemistry degree course and show how studying at Aalen University differ from those at a university. This is an opportunity for pupils and parents in particular to clarify questions and find out which path is the right one for them.

How are new drugs developed – and what distinguishes this course of study from pharmacy? We provide a compact insight into the biopharmaceutical sciences and show the role played by research, biology and technology. For pupils and parents who are curious about paths into health research.

At "Supersense: Seeing!" you have the opportunity to test your sense of sight at various interactive stations with fun and games. You will also gain an insight into modern measurement methods in ophthalmic optics as well as studies, research and careers. If you wish, you can also take part in a laboratory tour and learn more about technology and training in optometry.

We have spiced up the game board of the well-known Ravensburger game Deutschlandreise with controllable LEDs and a piece of software to find and show the shortest route for each combination of cities. How close are you to the optimal solution?

Cosmic algorithms – media informatics in space flight

Solder your superheroes.

A number, a cat, a cup – child's play for us humans. But how does a computer do it? At our three stations, you can try out for yourself how a neural network breaks down images and recognizes edges, shapes and objects piece by piece - almost like a digital brain! Simply hold a real object up to the camera and watch live how the AI thinks.

The current research results of the Heckmann working group will be presented in an interactive exhibition. A demonstrator will allow you to experience key concepts and technologies in a practical way. For a younger audience, an interactive chatbot is also available to answer basic questions in an age-appropriate way.

How do computers detect transmission errors in data packets? In this program item, participants will learn about the Hamming code. This is a procedure with which errors in digital messages can be detected and even corrected. Practical examples will be used to show how reliable data transmission works and why such methods are indispensable for the internet, mobile communications and AI systems.

Whether navigation systems, delivery services or social networks – algorithms are looking for optimal routes everywhere. In this workshop, participants will examine how so-called path-finding algorithms work and which strategies are particularly efficient. In a playful way, they will understand how computer science helps to solve complex problems quickly and reliably.

The demonstrator shows power electronics and drive technology for the deep sea at depths of up to 6000 meters. Contactless power transmission and a special underwater motor will be demonstrated, and visitors can watch the demonstrator being controlled live via the controller. This provides a direct insight into how power electronics and modern control technology work underwater.

Here you can learn all about innovative materials, modern production technologies and lightweight and sustainable products!
