Climate protection management

Climate Protection Management is responsible for compiling the Energy and Greenhouse Gas Balance at the institution of higher education. To this end, direct and indirect emissions from fields (of) the properties, mobility, IT infrastructure and procurement of the institution of higher education are systematically recorded. It is the basis for the transparent presentation of emission sources and identification of potential savings as well as ensuring the measurability of progress in the field (of) climate protection.

Ideas on the topic of climate protection can be submitted to the institution of higher education's climate protection management at any time. With the involvement of relevant stakeholders, climate protection measures are identified and prioritized in a participatory manner based on the analysis of the greenhouse gas balance. To prioritize the climate protection measures, the duration, effort, financial and emission savings and break-even as well as financing, funding are considered.

The climate protection concept forms the strategic decision-making basis in the field (of) climate protection, which is based on the greenhouse gas balance in its analyses and integrates the catalog of measures in a structured manner. It acts as an aid in the planning of relevant and effective climate protection measures as well as a binding decision-making and implementation basis for a long-term, coordinated climate protection strategy.
