Optometry

My studies at Aalen University of Applied Sciences showed me that optometry is exactly the right career path for me. Today, I’m starting my own business with the eyewear shop in Essingen. What’s particularly important to me is connecting with people and having a family-friendly work environment.

My studies enabled me to work in an ophthalmology practice / laser center, where my daily routine is full of variety. My responsibilities include preliminary ophthalmological examinations, diagnostic tests using modern equipment, and assisting in the operating room.

My journey from Aalen University of Applied Sciences to the executive management of Hecht CL wasn’t always easy as a woman and mother of two children. I was driven by my passion for optometry and the courage to see change as an opportunity. The foundation I gained in Aalen gave me the confidence to do so.

My profession is so diverse—ranging from eye examinations and contact lens fitting to tear film analysis, color vision deficiencies, and optometric visual function training (OSFT).

The studies in Optometry at Aalen University of Applied Sciences opened up a fantastic career opportunity for me at ZEISS Vision Care. Today, I lead Product Management VTS there, which is an interesting combination of developing and marketing innovations for the optometry industry
