For the start of the part-time Master's program M.Sc. Vision Science and Business (Optometry) at Aalen University, two of the 24 places are still available. This Optometry Master's degree program, unique in Europe, is lectured by professors with extensive practical experience from US Colleges of Optometry. These professors travel from the USA to Aalen in pairs for an extended weekend from Friday to Tuesday. On July 31, 2026, the highly experienced and rhetorically gifted Prof. Dr. Thom Freddo, who is also skilled in theoretical subjects such as histology and physiology, will begin the Master’s degree program together with the renowned Prof. Bina Patel from the New England College of Optometry, Boston, MA, USA. Prof. Patel will be supported in the laboratory sessions over the weekend by alumni and optometrists Oliver Buck, Tom Köllmer, Georg Scheuerer, and Katja Schiborr. This allows for intensive training in laboratory procedures in small groups! The Dean of Studies, Prof. Dr. Anna Nagl looks forward to hearing from interested applicants.
