In the course of the 49th Annual Conference on Acoustics, the credit, science and scholarshop performance of Felix Czwielong (Chair of Fluid Mechanics at the Friedrich-Alexander-University Erlangen), Julian Benz (LSTM), Andreas Renz (former LSTM), Michael Sedlmajer (Aalen University of Applied Sciences) and Dr.-Ing. Christof Ocker (former Aalen University of Applied Sciences) was honored in the form of a poster award. The expert scientific committee was impressed by both the poster design and the extensive numerical investigations/analyses of axial fans using CFD and CAA procedures. The results showed how an international benchmark fan can be optimized both aerodynamically and in terms of flow acoustics using optimized design parameters. The award also confirms the long-standing and successful collaboration, cooperation between the "Aerodynamics and Acoustics" RU of Prof. Dr.-Ing. habil. Stefan Becker and the working group of Prof. Dr.-Ing. Markus Merkel at Aalen University of Applied Sciences.
