From Idea to Compelling Pitch
Do you have an innovative idea, or would you like to learn how to turn an initial inspiration into a viable business model? Then the 2027 Winter School is just right for you!
Over three intensive days, you’ll gain practical knowledge about innovation, starting a business, and entrepreneurship. Together with experts and other dedicated students, you’ll further develop ideas, learn creative methods, and work on a compelling pitch.
Who is the Winter School for?
The Winter School is aimed at:
- Participants in the idea competition,
- students and teams from the StartupSÜD network,
- anyone who is in the early stages of developing an idea or who wants to learn about entrepreneurial thinking.
No prior knowledge is required—curiosity, creativity, and motivation are all you need!
Here’s what to expect
Day 1 – Design Thinking
Learn the basics of Design Thinking and develop creative solutions to real-world challenges. The focus is on user needs and the development of innovative ideas.
Day 2 – Business Model Development
How does a good idea become a successful business model? Together, you’ll work out the key components of a business model and develop your idea step by step.
Day 3 – Pitching
To wrap things up, you’ll learn how to present your idea persuasively. You’ll receive valuable tips on storytelling, presentation techniques, and how to structure a successful pitch. At the closing event, you’ll have the opportunity to present your concept and receive valuable feedback.

The Winter School thrives on the exchange of different disciplines and perspectives. Through interactive workshops, group work, and networking, you’ll get to know students from various degree programs and the StartupSÜD network. Together, you’ll generate new ideas, forge exciting collaborations, and perhaps even launch future startups.
