The final thesis must be registered no later than 3 months after completion of all modules. If you fail to register within this deadline, you will be assigned a topic by the examinations board, examination committee of your degree program.

Please complete this form in full and submit it to the Student Administration Office by e-mail, email with the signature of your Primary supervisor. The submission can also be made via Studmail.

Submission of your Bachelor's thesis

Upon submission, the thesis must be submitted digitally on a data carrier to the SSC (Beethovenstraße, room 120) by the given deadline(s). Please clarify in advance with your examiners whether bound paper copies are required. Please also hand in a printout of the cover page of your thesis and the completed declaration of originality with the data carrier.

Submission of your Master's Thesis

At least one bound copy must be submitted to the SSC (Beethovenstraße, room 120) by the given deadline(s). Please clarify in advance with your examiners to what extent further bound copies are necessary or whether additional digital copies are required. Please also hand in the completed declaration of originality with your thesis.

Submission always takes place at the SSC (Beethovenstraße, room 120). This is the only way to ensure that the time of submission is documented in a legally secure manner. Submission by post is possible. In this case, the deadline is deemed to have been met. We therefore recommend that you send the supporting documents by enrolment so that the post office can issue you with a receipt accordingly.

General information on the submission of your final thesis

If the submission deadline falls on a Saturday, Sunday or public holiday, the deadline is renewed to the next working day.

In accordance with the study rules and examination regulations, when submitting a final thesis, you must confirm in writing that the thesis was written independently and that none of the sources and means of assistance other than those specified were used. The institution of higher education provides a sample text for this purpose, which you should train into the digital/bound version of the final thesis.

The declaration of originality provided by the institution of higher education also differentiates whether the use of generative AI is undesired, permitted or even required, necessary. Your supervisor will agree with you which version is to be used.

If you are planning a study abroad stay and would like to complete assignments, credit, performance at another institution of higher education or university to be recognized towards your Studies, please contact the International Office of your degree programme before your study abroad stay and agree a Learning Agreement. Assignments, credits, performances agreed upon in the Learning Agreement will be recognized after your study abroad stay without further application, as soon as you have submitted the pertinent documentation.

The following applies to assignments, credit, performance that were not agreed in the Learning Agreement:

• Please submit a request for recognition of assignments, credit, performance within 6 weeks of the first day of classes of the semester after you have returned from abroad. Only assignments, credits, performance that you have applied for can be examined for recognition. Recognition at a later date is no longer possible!

• Please use the application form provided by Aalen University of Applied Sciences and submit it to the Admissions and Recognition Office of your degree program by the given deadline(s) together with the required supporting documents. You can take a leave of absence from Studies for one semester for important reasons. Please submit your application, request for a leave of absence via the online portal. The application, request must be submitted before the start of the lecture period of the semester in question.

The full Semester Contribution must be paid for a Semester on leave. If you are subject to an obligation to pay tuition fees (foreigners or second course of studies), this fee is waived for the semester in question.

The rapid spread of generative artificial intelligence ("generative AI") challenges us as a university community. The document under the following link is intended to provide you with initial assistance on the topic of generative AI. The guidance explains the existing legal regulations; the laws, regulations, statutes and commitments of the examinations boards, examination committees that apply to you are and remain legally binding. Exmatriculation is currently only possible by application, using the application form provided for this purpose.

The completed form can either be submitted in person at the Service Center or alternatively sent by e-mail, email.

As a rule, exmatriculation always takes effect at the end of a semester. If there are special reasons for which you can provide pertinent documentation (e.g. starting an employment relationship), you can also apply for exmatriculation at an earlier date.

NOTE: Even in the case of exmatriculation during the semester, the examination rights always run until the end of the semester. The threat of losing the right (permanent or non-permanent) to sit examinations cannot be circumvented by early exmatriculation.

Important: The student has a duty to bring and provide evidence. Please ensure that you adhere to the deadlines, the appointment, date of the doctor's note and the correct form!

If several examination components are missed during an examination period, the entrepreneurs for each individual omission/failure must be reported immediately after the respective examination component and not only after the degree of all missed examination components has been completed. However, if it is known at the time of exhibition of the certificate that several examination results will be missed within the time period of the inability to take the examination, the excuse for all examination components concerned must be submitted together in advance.

Information on data protection

In accordance with § 8 para. 2, § 12 para. 1 and § 32 para. 4 State Higher Education Act (LHG) in conjunction with the respective study and examination regulations valid for students at Aalen University of Applied Sciences, Aalen University has the right to collect necessary data to fulfill its tasks in relation to the course of studies and examinations. This also includes data accordingly regarding non-participation in examinations due to illness. None of the data collected here will be passed on to third parties. The data is deleted in accordance with the requirements for the deletion of student data, usually 1 year after the completion of an academic program

If an examination is canceled due to illness (de-registration from an exam), this attempt can only be counted as an unsuccessful attempt if the following conditions are met:

• Work on the written exam must be stopped immediately.

• The person concerned must inform the examination invigilator in the examination room immediately.

• The person concerned must seek medical treatment immediately.

• The illness must be documented by a medical certificate. Please use the form below for this purpose.

Approximately six weeks after the first day of classes of the respective semester (see schedule of Aalen University of Applied Sciences), the online register for an examination will be activated on the internet. Please register for the examinations you wish to take a test in the respective semester by the given deadline(s) within the time period specified in the schedule. You are responsible for your own registration!

After the end of the time period specified in the institution of higher education's Calendar of events, registration is no longer possible.

Once you have registered for an examination, please check that all assignments, credits, performances have been recorded in the system. Create a receipt for the registered examinations and take this as proof (pertinent documentation) for your supporting documents. If the data is incorrect, please contact the Student Administration Office immediately.

For the registration of additional coursework, electives and also for the registration of third attempts, which cannot be registered via the homepage of Aalen University of Applied Sciences (QIS systems), please use the following form and send it to us via your Studmail, completed, signed and by the given deadline(s).

If you are in the process of losing the right of admission to sit examinations in your degree programme and you have submitted an application, request to continue studying or have lodged an appeal (official report on the hearing, objection or complaint), this has a suspensive effect. This means that you may continue to study and take a test until a final decision has been made on your case.

During the practical semester in a school practical semester, you are allowed to write a maximum of three examinations that you have already attempted at least once.

You may not take a test on your first attempt unless you have withdrawn from the examination at short notice due to illness in a pre-sessional/foundation course.

Students with restricted admission usually have "Learning Agreements", which are agreed in advance with the degree programs of Aalen University of Applied Sciences and the partner university. In order to record the grades in the system and for documentation purposes, we require you to register for an examination accordingly.

If you withdraw, deregister with immediate effect within one month of the first day of classes, the Semester Contribution, the contribution to the constituted student body and tuition fees can be refunded on application, request.

If you exmatriculate at a later date, none of your fees will be reimbursed.

Reimbursement of the student services organisation (Studierendenwerk) contribution is made via the Studierendenwerk Ulm. You can find more information here.

If you wish to continue your Studies, you must re-register via the online portal within the re-registration period and pay the fees and contributions for the following semester.

Re-registration periods:
For the summer semester: January 15 - January 31
For the winter semester: July 15 - July 31

If you do not re-register by the given deadline(s), you will be ex officio, officially withdrawn, deregistered and lose your university place and student status. You can then only resume your Studies by submitting a new Application.

Re-registering students who are graduates

You must be enrolled up to the semester in which you work (required), (expected) achievement of your last examination components - including any required resit (UK), retake (US)).

Even after your last examination, you can remain enrolled until the end of the semester in which you receive your certificates; degrees.

As long as you are enrolled, you will continue to benefit from student status, access to the library and university portals as well as the use of IT services. Premature exmatriculation will end these benefits.

Please submit proof of workloads to the institution of higher education's Career Center.

• You can submit supporting documents on a voluntary basis directly to the Career Center's P.O. Box 215 in the P.O. Box facility (Beethovenstraße 1).

• Please submit reports on participation in online courses to the Career Center via e-mail, email.

Please register for the general studies part of the degree program via the online registration form. This registration can be done at any time during the semester.

Afterwards, please submit your general studies part of the degree programme to the Internships Office of your degree programme.
