Would you like to try out what it's like to take part in a lecture and write a university exam? Under certain prerequisites(s), you can enrol at our institution of higher education if you are currently still attending school. You will then have the opportunity to take part in selected module components/courses at Aalen University of Applied Sciences and take a test if you wish. This allows you to gain initial experience with a view to later Studies, while at the same time ensuring a high level of learning.

Participants of the Early Studies program are not enrolled at Aalen University of Applied Sciences, but remain students. Priority continues to be given to school assignment, credit, performance, which should not suffer as a result of participation. For this reason, both the consent of the school and (in the case of applicants who are minors) the consent of their legal guardians are required.

Pupil students are exempted from classes to attend module components/courses at Aalen University of Applied Sciences and must therefore make up any missed schoolwork on their own. If they find it difficult to reconcile school and Early Studies, participation can be terminated at any time.

• by August 25 for the winter semester (first day of classes in October)
• by February 25 for the summer semester (first day of classes in March)

The following documents are required, necessary:

• Cover letter or letter of motivation for the Early Studies program
• Early Studies application form
• Certificate from the school
• Credentials in the context of an initial consultation with the central student advisory service
• Curriculum vitae in tabular form
• Last school report (copy)

You know your pupils very well and can assess who is suitable for Early Studies and can afford the additional organizational effort. Early Studies offer a very good opportunity, especially for particularly interested and high-achieving pupils, to discover new departments, become enthusiastic about topics and also experience their own limits. The organizational implementation is often strenuous, for example travel distances, missed classes or the fact that not all lectures can be attended, which in turn means that gaps in knowledge have to be filled elsewhere.

The Early Studies registration form contains agreements between the student and the school. These must be confirmed by signature.
