The Faculty of Business and Health attaches great importance to continuous further education and actively promotes it. The educational offering includes various award-winning, for working professionals Bachelor's and Master's degree programs, as well as continuing education opportunities in the form of departments and certificate courses for staff in companies in the region, students, future students and graduates.

Due to the rapid changes in the world of employment, it is becoming increasingly important to orientate oneself during Studies and to create the basis for a later career path through contact with practice; practical experience. The Career and Start-up Center at Aalen University of Applied Sciences promotes this early exchange through targeted programs. The Career Center offers all students practice-orientated courses for the transfer of generic competencies and professionally relevant key skills.

The talks; lectures offered as part of the general studies part of the degree program of the Career and Start-up Center are public module components/courses of Aalen University of Applied Sciences for everyone, which deal with current exciting topics and offer a comprehensive general education. In this series of events for our students, WiWi alumni present their career paths in short guest lectures. Our students should get a first-hand overview of the daily tasks and exciting challenges of professional life in different positions and industries from alumni. Our students also learn about various entry-level job opportunities and different career paths. Afterwards, students have the opportunity to meet alumni in person at a small get-together.

For this series of events, we are looking for speakers every semester who are willing to give a short evening lecture (approx. 20 minutes) and exchange ideas with our students.

As part of the mentoring program(KarMen Plus), the institution of higher education liaises with (mentee) a manager (mentor) from the economy, business or industry. They pass on their advice and experience to the students. The aim is to develop the personality and skills of the students and to fund their appointment for professors; appointment funds. Mentoring is intended to open up ways of passing on knowledge about career paths, expectations in the professional environment as well as opportunities and barriers in the agreement of family and professions.

Mentors are women and men who hold management positions in a company in the Württemberg/East Württemberg region as supervisors or at the end of projects.

Time required

Four to six meetings between mentee and mentor take place over a time period of 10 months. In addition to the meetings, participation in business appointments, dates or small projects can be agreed. An accompanying program is also offered.

The "Aalen Industry Fair - AIM for students" is one of the largest contact and career fairs for students and companies in southern Germany. Organized by students once a year since 1994, this fair is primarily aimed at the students and professors of Aalen University of Applied Sciences, but also attracts many visitors from the surrounding regions to Aalen. The focus here is on professional organization and a comprehensive service for the exhibitors, which has enabled the fair to grow to almost 140 exhibitors. The motto of the event (allgemein) has proven itself in the meantime: By students - for students.
