What is advanced course / specialty practical experience?

The advanced course / specialty offers students of Aalen University of Applied Sciences the opportunity to gain further practical experience in companies, research institutes or research institutions of Aalen University in addition to their Studies. Characteristic of advanced course / specialty practical experience in Bachelor's programs is that the proportion of practical elements is at least 50% greater than in a regular Bachelor's program. The additional practical experience is attractive for both students and future employers. Students gain a deeper insight into practice; practical experience is better than in a regular Studies course and allows them to get to know potential employers better. The advanced course / specialty practical experience course model is also possible on the masters/master's programme. A total of at least 480 hours must be completed in a cooperating company, in a cooperating research institute or in a research institution of Aalen University of Applied Sciences. As a degree, in addition to the diploma, a certificate for the completion of the advanced course; specialty practical experience is issued by Aalen University of Applied Sciences.

Prerequisite(s) for the certificate "advanced course; practical experience":

Consultation with the contact person of the degree program or participation in an information event accordingly

The company or research institute where you will carry out your practical work must be a cooperation partner of Aalen University.

If your desired company is not on the list of cooperation partners, please ask whether the company would be interested in a cooperation agreement within the framework of the advanced course; practical experience with Aalen University of Applied Sciences. At least 60 working days (480 hours) of practical work. The verification form can be found on the Downloads page and must be submitted to the Internships Office.
Important note: The practical semester in a school, practical semester and the time spent during the Bachelor's or Master's Thesis do not count towards this requirement.
Concluded internship contract, education contract, etc. with a cooperating company/research institute or with a research institution of Aalen University of Applied Sciences. The contract must be submitted to the Internships Office.

Collaboration, cooperation with Aalen University of Applied Sciences only takes place for a specific degree program. This is to ensure that the company's field of activity matches the fields of activity of the degree program and that students can supplement the skills they have acquired during their studies with additional practical experience.
