The Staff Council

We represent the interests of all employees at Aalen University of Applied Sciences vis-à-vis the university administration.

In doing so, we work closely with the representative body for employees with severe disabilities and the Verdi and GEW unions. We are also part of several working groups that connect us with other staff councils throughout Baden-Württemberg. Our work is governed by the Baden-Württemberg State Staff Representation Act (LPVG-BW).

Our Responsibilities & Activities

Our Responsibilities

Our most important responsibilities include

  • monitoring compliance with laws, regulations, collective bargaining agreements, service agreements, and administrative orders that benefit employees,
  • reviewing suggestions and complaints from employees, and
  • participating in various committees, such as the Occupational Safety Committee

Our Activities

Depending on the topic, staff council work requires extensive research, thorough familiarization with the subject matter, and effective communication. Our regular activities also include

  • Staff council meetings, usually held every 14 days
  • Staff meetings and departmental staff meetings, generally held annually
  • Office hours for employees
  • Quarterly meetings with university administration
