The final thesis is the calling card of the graduate, the university and the supervisor. For most students, the bachelor‘s thesis is their first independent, written and academic work. Thus, most students feel very insecure, which is why they increasingly demand support from their supervisors.

Content:
• We will identify what makes thesis supervision successful for everyone involved.
• How can students takere sponsibility for their work, and how can we as supervisers motivate and support them?
• We will explore the roles we can play assupervisors.
• Together, we will create a toolbox for good supervision.

Methods:
• Reflect on your own experiences of being supervised
• Inputs
• Practice and discuss
• Plenary discussion and topic-related individual or group work
• Clarification of questions and concerns
• Short supervision role plays

Objectives:
• Reflect own experiences of supervision
• Identify ways towards a successful relationship between supervisor and student
• Differentiate between supervision of research work, Bachelor‘s and Master‘s theses
• Develop own understanding of supervision intensity and rhythm
• Define topics for theses
• Provide competenceoriented feedback on written work
