Lightweight Construction

I research the 3D printing of plastics and their mapping in virtual Product Development. This results in new approaches for lightweight construction with additive manufacturing, which I further develop together with students in laboratories / labs and projects and transfer into practice; through my staff in externally-funded projects.

I develop (children's) bicycles from concept to series production, taking into account strength, weighting, functions and costs. My acquired knowledge of lightweight design as well as various construction, Simulation and kinematics tools help me to do this. In addition, I also deal with the specification and testing of the installed bike parts. It is particularly important to consider the special requirements for products for (children's) bikes.

I develop and supervise innovative products in the field (of) self-climbing technology for high-rise projects worldwide. I accompany the entire life cycle from the definition of requirements to Product Development and the international launch. One focus here is on lightweight steel constructions in order to create efficient and ergonomic solutions for the construction industry. Working closely with global markets, I ensure that our products meet local requirements and are used successfully internationally.
