Scholarship for students with professional experience

A new selection procedure has been launched for the Federal Ministry of Education and Research's Upgrading Scholarship program. The funding is aimed specifically at students with vocational training and supports university studies up to the first academic degree. Application is possible before the start of a degree course, and students can apply up to the end of their second semester. The first step in the three-stage selection process is the online application.

The Deutschlandstipendium (national scholarship programme) supports high-achieving and committed students with 300 euros per month. The federal government covers 150 euros of this, the other half is covered by supporters, sponsors such as foundations and companies.

Aalen University of Applied Sciences has participated in the Deutschlandstipendium (national scholarship program) since 2011 and calls for proposals for the Deutschlandstipendium every winter semester. Application for the Deutschlandstipendium (national scholarship programme) takes place online and is open to all students and new students, beginners at Aalen University of Applied Sciences.

German Academic Exchange Service (DAAD)

Here you will find a variety of different funding opportunities for foreign students, graduates, doctoral candidates and university teachers as well as offers from other selected funding organizations. The application requirements and application procedures are explained in more detail under each funding opportunity.

With this type of funding, above-average performance (compared to the average performance of students in the same subject) is just as important as social commitment and personality.

The Federal Ministry of Education and Research supports 13 organizations for the promotion of gifted students, which award Scholarships to young people whose personality and aptitude indicate that they are likely to perform particularly well at the University of Applied Sciences. In addition, the applicant should be socially committed. The scholarship funds are the same for all organizations for the promotion of gifted students; applications must be submitted directly to the organization itself.

German and EU-European students and doctoral candidates can apply for the scholarship, as well as people who fulfill the criteria according to § 8 BAföG. A further requirement is admission to Studies or a doctorate at a state or state-recognized University of Applied Sciences in Germany.

Avicenna-Studienwerk

The Avicenna-Studienwerk, one of the 13 scholarship organizations, aims to support talented Muslim students and doctoral candidates through scholarships. The scholarship consists of financial support and non-material support, which includes a variety of educational events. Applications are expected to show above-average performance and social commitment.

Muslim high school graduates and students who are enrolled at a state or state-recognized German University of Applied Sciences can apply for the scholarship. It should be noted that students must still have at least 5 semesters of standard study time to complete at the time of application.

Applications must be submitted by April 1 or October 1 of each year. Funding then begins in the following semester.

Otto Benecke Foundation

The Otto Benecke Foundation offers courses and advice for young immigrants.

Since 1965, more than 400,000 immigrants have been supported in continuing or supplementing their education in Germany through the foundation's funding under the Guarantee Fund. The aim of the foundation is to achieve rapid social integration and to continue the training interrupted in the country of origin. The grants can include, for example, course costs for Abitur and German courses, learning and integration allowances, living allowances, private tuition and much more.

Rheinstahl Foundation

You are studying mechanical engineering, electrical engineering, industrial engineering, shipbuilding, economics or a comparable course of study and have a high affinity for technical topics.

You have already successfully completed the third semester of your Bachelor's degree or are currently studying for a Master's degree at a university, a University of Applied Sciences, a mining academy or other educational institutions in Germany or abroad.

You have supplemented your theoretical knowledge with valuable practical experience in the industry during internships or working student activities and have thus become familiar with the first central basic elements of your specialist area.

Your strengths include a pronounced creative motivation and willingness to learn.

You want to make a difference and set yourself ambitious goals. You have proven this through your commitment, e.g. outside the University of Applied Sciences.

Hanns Voith Foundation

Scholarships from the Hanns Voith Foundation are awarded to needy and talented young people from the Heidenheim area as well as needy and talented employees of companies belonging to the Voith Group and their children to pursue and perfect their studies at universities and technical colleges in the fields of natural sciences, engineering and economics. Application is possible from the second semester onwards and the funding covers the duration of the standard period of study.

Study funding via the Festo Education Fund

Here you will find support for your STEM degree course. You will receive a student loan of up to €40,000, so you don't have to worry about your tuition fees. In addition, there are many interesting qualifications free of charge for you and significant contacts to innovative companies.

The Festo Education Fund's income-dependent student financing has the advantage that you only have to pay back as much as you can actually afford after your Studies. Interesting qualifications and seminars worth knowing about are also part of the study financing. The additional knowledge you gain as a result can make it much easier for you to start your career later on. The network consists of innovative companies from various sectors. This allows you to gain an impression of the various companies so that you can later find the employer that suits you.

Study foundation via MLP

The MLP scholarship supports you with everything you need for your studies - whether it's study materials or a stay abroad. Are you studying or doing a doctorate? Then take the chance to win one of 30 MLP Scholarships worth 3,000 euros each.

Who can apply?

Applications are open to students or doctoral candidates of all degree courses who are enrolled at a German University of Applied Sciences and are at least in their third semester.

Scholarships are awarded in four categories:

• Studies - for good performance in Studies
• Social - for social (extra)academic commitment
• Science - for academic achievement
• International - for a completed or ongoing project or internship abroad

Aktion Luftsprung - Scholarship for young people with chronic illnesses

This scholarship provides support for up to three young talents per year in their training or Studies. Candidates with hereditary diseases as well as other chronic illnesses who approach their training and career choice with motivation and commitment and thus also set an example for other chronically ill people are supported.

Scholarship from the Bowel Disease Foundation

The support program of the Bowel Disease Foundation is aimed exclusively at young people with Crohn's disease and ulcerative colitis. Affected persons up to the age of 35 can apply. Scholarships are awarded for the realization of an individual, specifically planned educational project. All areas of the educational project are supported.

Heinz Nixdorf Program

The Heinz Nixdorf Program for the Promotion of Asia-Pacific Experience enables young German executives to complete four-month internships in Asian countries, preparing them for future sales markets and contributing to their global thinking and worldwide mobility. Valuable practical experience and market knowledge are promoted in a place where the economy is very dynamic - in Asia.

Support for female STEM students at HS Aalen

Promotion of women in engineering professions

The MTU Study Foundation supports talented young women studying science and technology. The aim of this study foundation is to counteract the underrepresentation of female STEM graduates and to encourage young women in scientific and technical Studies to face the demands of a leadership position.

The MTU Studies Foundation offers performance-oriented and committed female students more than just financial support. In addition to professional and personal advice and support, our services include the annual Foundation Days, where participants can improve their soft skills and thus prepare themselves for everyday working life.

Apply online with your CV, relevant certificates and a letter of motivation in which you convince us why we should support you. After a thorough review of your documents, we will add you to the pool of candidates for the next Foundation Days. Once a year - usually in late summer - a selection of female students from all applications received will be invited to the Foundation Days.

Hildegardis sponsorship

The Hildegardis Association grants interest-free loans to female students for their first degree and semesters abroad as part of individual support.

Evangelisches Studienwerk Villigst

The scholarship for refugees is aimed at students with refugee experience who are studying at German Universities of Applied Sciences.

Applications that are completed early in the application period will be given priority in the pre-selection process (first-come, first-served)!

Scholarship of the Evonik Foundation

The Evonik Foundation scholarship is intended to enable refugees to pursue an academic education. It is embedded in the "University without Borders" project.

The Manfred Theodora Schurr Foundation is a non-profit foundation under civil law that supports particularly talented, committed and motivated young people. The aim is to make it easier for them to take up Studies and to ease the financial burden on their families.

• The foundation only supports students from the Ostalbkreis region.
• The fields of study are limited to the visual and performing arts, music, literature and science.
• The granting of support is dependent on the parents' income. A copy of the BAföG certificate must be enclosed with the application.
• Selected students from Bachelor's and Master's degree programs at Aalen University of Applied Sciences will be supported with 200 euros per month.
• The duration of the support is limited to the standard period of study.

Then apply for the Master Plus scholarship program and benefit from the idealistic and financial support of the Hamburg-based Claussen Simon Foundation.

The foundation supports committed and high-achieving individuals in their full-time professional further qualification, e.g. through a technician, bachelor's, master's or practical course of study. Prerequisites for the sponsorship are a good grade point average, a letter of recommendation and interest in Grünbeck AG and its foundation model. Applications can be submitted until April 30.
