International experience and bilingualism: As part of my anesthesia training in Great Britain, I worked as an assistant, subject, discipline (an expert) and finally as a senior physician in a total of 8 hospitals and thus received a broad international vocational training and diverse experience in process, health and patient risk management.
Research in medical didactics: At the Simulation Center, I conducted research on a project on patient safety, which served as the basis for my Master's thesis in Medical education and which I published in the highly-respected, prestigious, well-known anesthesia journal (Anaesthesia 2016; 71(11): 1332-1340). I would very much like to conduct future research projects in the fields (of) medical didactics, health services research and patient safety.
Extensive didactic experience in coordinating academic study and workplace training; academic knowledgeand practical experience; theoryand practice: As can be seen from my Curriculum Vitae (UK), I have taught as a tutor since my studies, continued this as a junior doctor in ALS courses and as an experienced anesthetist at the Liverpool University Simulation Centre (CSPS) and acquired the necessary theoretical knowledge through a Master's degree in England and the University Didactics Certificate in Germany. I am particularly passionate about patient safety and the innovative training and continuing education of a multidisciplinary healthcare team. At the Simulation Center (CSPS), I developed, led and taught innovative emergency courses and human factor courses for several years, thereby acquiring a wide range of didactic experience in theory and practical experience; theory and practice. My work as a lecturer and in human factor research focused particularly on the fields of communication (CRM), behavior in stressful situations and change management to improve patient safety.
Organization and Management skills for the development and expansion of the PA degree programme: I was able to deepen my theoretical foundations in medical didactics acquired during my masters studies through my teaching activities at the University of Heidelberg, Heidelberg University and the institution of higher education of Aalen Sciences in order to meet the challenge of developing and expanding the PA degree programme.
Networking: through my many years of clinical and outpatient work in acute and preventive patient care, I see myself as an "interface expert" ideally equipped to drive forward project partnerships with existing and future partners.
Experience in the application of modern teaching formats: I have played a leading role in the development of the contents and concept of a new type of e-learning module on the topic of mentoring and its establishment in Baden-Württemberg. Mentoring is particularly close to my heart, as for me it is at the heart of vocational training in medicine and represents an investment of my diverse experience for the future of prospective healthcare professionals. In the "Regions for medical vocational training" project, I was particularly concerned with the needs of students in the "rural doctor quota", which I further developed using digital and practical teaching and learning methods with a focus on outpatient care in rural areas. I was also responsible for the organization and vocational training in the PJ in general medicine and contributed to the curriculum design and implementation in various working groups (interprofessional teaching, patient safety, Famulatur Plus, reference practices).
