A group of around 35 participants, consisting of staff, professors and technical students, visited this year's BAUMA in Munich - the world's leading trade fair for construction machinery. Organized by the Department, Institute of Drive Technology, the excursion, field trip served to provide specific information about the current valid from the field (of) construction machinery. In addition, the visit to the trade fair was intended to provide an opportunity to identify areas in need of research and to gain new project partners for future schemes, enterprise, aim, goal.
The trade fair visit began with an informative tour of the Wirtgen Group's stand, a leading international supplier of machinery for Road Construction, maintenance and raw materials extraction. The focus was on current developments in the field (of) CO₂ reduction in road construction machinery and the digital networking of machines. The technologies were examined at close quarters and discussed with an expert in a technical context.
Over the course of the day, the participants explored the extensive site in small groups. This provided numerous opportunities to gain new impetus for teaching and applied research. New contacts were made and valid from existing project partners were also visited.
A successful day with exciting insights, professional exchange and valuable contacts for future projects.
