The spacious refraction room offers space for 11 work stations. In addition to generous daylight conditions, flexible lighting allows any desired darkening phases to be set so that measurements and vocational training for all objective and subjective refraction techniques are possible.
The room with 11 work stations is generously equipped, yet spacious, so that groups of up to 22 staff can work comfortably. Each vacancies is equipped with a large lens box, measuring glasses and a manual phoropter. Skiascopes, direct ophthalmoscopes and various close-up inspection devices complete the equipment at each work station. Various electronic vision tests are used for visual acuity, while Maddox crosses are available for binocular examinations. Prism bars, Maddox tests for near vision, Saladin cards etc. can be used at the vacancies, (free) places if required.
In particular, internships, work placements, practicums for objective and subjective refraction determination take place here, but students are also invited to practice independently in the refraction room outside of the internships.
