Research Center for Complex Systems

Systems theory focused research groups based at Aalen University

Our research focus covers all aspects of the fields of complex systems theory, especially mathematically-orientated and theoretical topics that have a clear relevance to physics, engineering, and computer sciences.

We are currently comprised of two research groups led by Professors Mahyar Mahinzaeim and Claus Feuchter.

Lattice Boltzmann Methods

This group conducts research on kinetic theory of gases with a special focus on the development of Lattice Boltzmann methods (LBM) for the simulation of turbulent flows, aeroacoustics, and microfluidics.

Infinite-Dimensional Systems

This group focuses on partial differential equations (PDEs), complex and functional analysis, and spectral theory, sometimes applied to concrete problems in systems and control theory (particularly continuum mechanical problems).
