The CHE university ranking is the most comprehensive and detailed ranking of higher education institutions in German speaking countries. More than 300 universities and universities of applied sciences (UAS) have been examined by CHE. The ranking includes data of study programmes, teaching and research as well as the assessments of students on the study conditions at their respective university. As of now, the ranking is available on ZEIT CAMPUS ONLINE: www.zeit.de/ranking.
Electronical Engineering in the CHE ranking 2016
First place in the federal state of Baden-Wuerttemberg and among the top three in all of Germany: In the 2016 CHE ranking, which was published in May, our study programme Electronics made it to the top three in all categories. This was thanks to the positive feedback of its students.
The CHE ranking questions students of participating German universities on issues such as their first semester, graduating in reasonable time, university equipment, research and study programmes and support by lecturers.
Aalen University is among the top flight thanks to the positive review by its students regarding practice orientation and laboratory equipment (two closely related criteria).
Topflight in laboratory equipment
State-of-the-art laboratory equipment is essential for practice-oriented teaching. As one of our many laboratories, the Basics Laboratory provides first-semester students with modern soldering/brazing and measuring/gauging devices, a wide range of electric components and Raspberry Pis. Using the equipment, they create own Raspberry Pi programmes and design an additional printed circuit board which is tested and activated after completion.
Other laboratories on campus offer optimum conditions to put the theoretical knowledge from the lectures into practice.
