Prof. Dr. h.c. Dietmar Kuemmel has been at Aalen University for 36 years

Although Prof. Dr. h.c. Dietmar Kümmel is retired since 2008, he still is connected to the Aalen University. The emeritus professor of ophthalmic optics, who has taught at Aalen University for more than 36 years, has been honored for ten years as a lecturer in the master's program "Vision Science and Business (Optometry)". He himself had called this into being and built up. Dietmar Kümmel always enjoyed the contacts, especially with the US partner universities and teaching. "I am an engineer by heart and soul. It was great fun teaching the ophthalmic optics students the 'Engineer Touch', "says Kümmel.
